Seasoned Roasted Potatoes

Ahhhhh, yes. The holiday season. I'm basking in all the free time I now have from school. Hopefully I can get back into the groove of things again. My blog has been neglected for far too long. This is a start, thoughand a yummy one at that! These roasted potatoes are usually considered as a side, but I love snacking on them by themselves. They are so flavorful! I actually baked them twice today. I couldn't get enough.

If you need any last-minute ideas for a dish to bring to holiday parties, these are definitely a good choice. They're not at all difficult to make, and they're a nice reprieve from all those sweets!

Gone Girl

I'm not usually one for reading thrillers. I'd read about a handful that had been way too predictable for me and had left me feeling nothing but disappointment, so I've tried avoiding that genre altogether. However, as soon as I saw the first trailer for the Gone Girl movie, I became intrigued. And the more that people who've actually read the book had ended up loving it, the more I became intrigued. I'm so glad that my friend (a book blogger whose blog you can check out HERE) managed to convince me, because this book BLEW. MY. MIND.

Loquat Leaves Tea

A couple months ago, I started to notice signs of trouble with my blood sugar levels. I love sweets, I really do. I've loved sweets ever since I could remember. And, unfortunately, I'm paying for it. Ever since my body had been acting up, I've been trying to cut down on my sugar intake. I've also been hunting for types of foods that would help lower my blood sugar levels. This is where loquat leaves come in.

Room

Room is a profoundly moving novel told from the perspective of a five-year-old boy named Jack who has lived his whole life in one single room. The room is about 12-by-12 feet, but for Jack and his mother it's their entire world. He has no idea he is being held captive and he's completely unaware of the fact that there is life beyond these four walls. To him, it's home. To his mother, it's a prison.

Charity Pot

I've made a commitment to only mention specific companies, organizations and/or products on this blog that I stand by 100%. Lush is one of those companies, and Charity Pot is definitely one of those products. If you're not familiar with Lush: Basically, they're a company that sells fresh handmade cosmetics (as their slogan says). But Lush is so much more than that. There's a lot that goes into their products that even the people who frequently shop there aren't fully aware of.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

I found this book sitting on my to-read shelf on Goodreads a couple weeks ago. It had been sitting there for so long that I don't even remember why I initially wanted to read it, but I'm glad I did. In fact, I loved it so much I ended up buying myself a copy.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer is basically about a 9-year-old boy who has to deal with the death of his father on 9/11. He's a very curious child who has a very active imaginationwhich can be a blessing and a curse. A blessing because his mind has no limits on where it could take him. He's an intelligent boy and quite well informed about the world around him. It could easily be seen with how he takes situations and people in for what it is and what they arewithout judgement. Just mere observation.
